Our Projects
As a CIC, all the work we do is in the interest of the community we serve. The work we are able to do in the community is supported by a number of organisations, who enable us to work on a number of projects. We are always looking to work on projects that will help our community.
Creative Days
Supported by Magic Little Grants
Enabling participation in the arts is important for our mental health, creativity and having a positive outlet. We have weekly creative art days for children and elderly.
Accessing support tackling fuel poverty in non English speaking communities in Nottingham
Supported by Community Matters Fund
Although people who speak non native English speakers are eligible for financial support to tackle poverty, there are barriers due to language skills and understanding. Our Association helps people from Portuguese speaking countries, and other languages, understand what support is available to you and help you access support on a one to one basis.
Social Interaction Development for Nottingham Portuguese Speaking Community
Supported by The National Lottery Community Fund
This is a year long program consisting of workshops in the arts and visiting places of social and historic value in the UK. It is important that people who make the UK their home can build a cultural network, whilst embedding themselves in their new home and connecting with British cultural landmarks and its people.
Protect the public
Supported by the Nottinghamshire police
The core duty of the police service is to protect the public by detecting and preventing crime. We regularly engage with the police, to have input in their strategy and ensure that we have a voice. They also engage with us on a regular basis to make us aware of support, jobs and programmes available to the community.
